Did Cuomo Blink? Or is he plotting? By Michael Caputo

Now here’s something you don’t see every day: New York Governor Andrew Cuomo blinked. He once demanded student test scores be taken into account in teacher evaluations. But that all changed before Thanksgiving. Supposedly.

First came the leak to the New York Times last week, where a senior Cuomo official said the governor is awaiting recommendations from an education task force he set up. Insiders say the task force will do exactly as it’s told and cut the value of testing in teacher metrics.

So, did the teacher’s union break Cuomo, as the New York Post said today? Or is Cuomo faking it, and up to something sinister? Fred Lebrun from the Times Union isn’t so sure. And I agree.
