The New York State Joint Commission on Public Ethics and Hilarious Inaction finally acted this week. They produced two advisory opinions on what must be done to curb Albany corruption. Apparently, they blame the media.
JCOPE called for donor regulations that would stop the investigated from donating to their investigator. That sounds smart, especially when you know Attorney General Eric Schneiderman raises money from his targets. He doesn’t like the JCOPE proposal. Obviously.
JCOPE also wants to require PR guys like me to disclose all the reporters we talk to if it’s about public policy. As result, reporters’ sources will dry up and corruption will be an even bigger problem .
That’s right JCOPE. The media is the problem. Idiots. Absolute idiots.
