When you’re right, you’re right. And I was right – Donald Trump hit 32 percent of the South Carolina Republican primary vote Saturday. More importantly, he kept Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz at a safe distance. He’s equally ahead in Nevada where, this Tuesday, he should win by a furlong, too.
I was also right about Governor Nikki Haley’s role in Rubio’s finish. When she endorsed Rubio, she gave him a razor’s edge over Cruz. But that tiny margin made all the difference; today Cruz is defending a disappointing third place finish.
I didn’t see Rubio in second, however, and he makes this look a 2-man race. Will the Nevada caucus put Trump further out in front? The establishment thinks so, and they are completely freaking out.
