Paris Jackson Reveals Septum Damage from Past Drug Use in Candid Sobriety Message

LOS ANGELES – Musician and actress Paris Jackson has opened up about her six-year sobriety journey, revealing in a candid TikTok video that her past drug use resulted in a perforated septum.
The 27-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson used the video to issue a direct warning to her followers about the lasting consequences of addiction. Pointing a flashlight up her nose to show the damage, Jackson explained the “loud whistle” she experiences when she breathes. “That is because I have what is called a perforated septum,” she said, adding, “That is from what you think it’s from.”
In the clip, Jackson urged her fans to learn from her experience, stating simply, “Don’t do drugs, kids.” She admitted that her past substance use “ruined my life” and that while she is now six years sober, she continues to live with the physical consequences.
Jackson, who has had the condition since she was 20, also shared that it can sometimes interfere with her music career. She explained that she has no plans to undergo corrective surgery because she wishes to avoid the powerful medication required for recovery.
The video is the latest example of Jackson’s candid approach with her followers. She has previously used social media to address critics and promote messages of self-acceptance and resilience.
